Breaking Ground: Week 13 BJJ Odyssey – From Strikes to Sacrifice Throws, Unveiling the Power of the Guard!

We’re rolling into Week 13 of our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey, and it’s been an incredible ride so far. This week, we’re diving deep into the dynamic world of ground strike defense, transitions to the guard, sacrifice throws, and mastering the guard position.

Ground Strike Defense

This week, we’re turning our attention to defense on the ground. Learn to navigate and neutralize strikes effectively, turning potential threats into opportunities. Our expert instructors will guide you through the nuances of ground strike defense, ensuring that you are not only comfortable but in control when the fight hits the mat.

Transitions to the Guard
The guard is your domain, and this week we’re focusing on seamless transitions. Whether you’re on the offense or the defense, understanding the intricacies of guard transitions will elevate your game to new heights.

Sacrifice Throws
Get ready to add some flair to your arsenal. Sacrifice throws are all about using your opponent’s momentum against them. Learn the art of sacrificing position for an advantageous throw that will leave your training partners in awe.

Guard Position Mastery
The guard is more than just a defensive posture—it’s a position of power. Our curriculum this week delves into the nuances of guard control, sweeps, and submissions. Elevate your guard game and become a force to be reckoned with on the mat.

Word of the Week: “Fun.”

In the midst of the intense training, it’s crucial to remember why we fell in love with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the first place—because it’s fun! As we explore ground strike defense, transitions, sacrifice throws, and guard positions, let’s not forget the joy that comes with the journey. Embrace the challenges, share laughs with your training partners, and find joy in every roll. After all, it’s the element of fun that keeps us coming back to the mat, eager to learn and grow.

Parents Night in November

Our first event, the Safety & Self Defense Spooktacular was huge success. We had current members, friends and family join us for a fun filled night of Jiu Jitsu and Halloween festivities. Stay tuned, we will be having our first Parents Night in November.  It will be Tuesday November 21st and whether its to get more supplies or groceries in preparation for Thanksgiving or to give back to yourself by going on a date, a much needed pampering session or taking a nap, Parents Night gives parents an opportunity to give back to themselves. Drop the kiddos off in a safe and familiar place where they will practice some Jiu Jitsu, play games and have fun. Keep an eye out for more information coming soon.

Keep up the fantastic work, GB warriors! Train hard, have fun, and let’s make Week 13 one to remember.

See you on the mats!
