Week 13 Jiu-Jitsu Focus: Defending Standing Strikes, Transitions, and Fun!

Welcome back to another exciting week of Jiu-Jitsu at Gracie Barra Lake Orion! This week, we’re diving into the art of defending standing strikes, mastering transitions to the guard, exploring sacrifice throws, and honing our guard positions. With our focus on enhancing skills and techniques, we’re also emphasizing the importance of incorporating fun into our training!

Defending Standing Strikes

We’ll be learning effective techniques to defend against standing strikes, utilizing footwork, blocks, and counters to maintain control and protect ourselves.

Transitions to the Guard

In Jiu-Jitsu, transitions are key. We’ll be working on smooth and controlled transitions to the guard position from various positions, allowing us to maintain advantageous positions on the ground.

Sacrifice Throws

Sacrifice throws can be powerful tools in our arsenal. We’ll be mastering these throws, understanding when and how to execute them effectively.

Guard Position

The guard is a fundamental position in Jiu-Jitsu. We’ll be refining our guard techniques, focusing on maintaining a strong defense while also setting up offensive opportunities.
